Ophthalmology Futures Forums are clinician-driven innovation meetings focusing on new technology, entrepreneurial ventures, market access and other aspects of commercialisation in the ophthalmic healthcare sector. They cover all aspects of global innovation in ophthalmic devices, diagnostics and pharmaceuticals by connecting scientists, physicians, regulators, reimbursement specialists, corporate leaders, venture capitalists and other investors who support the advancement of eye care. With the global ophthalmology device market projected to reach USD 58.05 billion by 2021, this is a growth industry.
The Ophthalmology Futures Asian Forum 2017 was held at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Singapore in March 2017, just preceding the 32nd Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Congress. Singapore is regarded among investors as an entrepreneurial hub with a rapidly developing ecosystem for start-ups and Asia’s leading location for medical technology. In collaboration with National University Hospital (NUH) the Ophthalmology Futures Asian Forum 2017 was also supported by the Economic Development Board (EDB) and our commercial partner, Cambridge Consultants.
The Forum was attended by delegates from across the industry and, indeed, across the globe with an attendance of over 150 delegates, presenters and speakers. Summaries of each of the seven panel discussions are highlighted in the below summary document, please click to download.
